Governance Structure

Our Governors provide strategic leadership and accountability in our school. Governors appoint the Principal and Vice Principal. It is governors who hold the main responsibility for finance in schools, and it is governors who work with the Principal to make the tough decisions about balancing resources.

ODST has a Board of Trustees which oversees the work of the Trust including the effectiveness of Local Governing Bodies.

The Local Governing Body meet once every Term (six times a year). Every member of the Governing attends these meetings and Committee members are appointed to our two Committees.

We also have two Committees to which are delegated some of the functions of the Governing Body.

The Performance and Standards Committee monitors the progress and attainment of pupils in the school. They also look at the quality of teaching and learning in the school and ensure that the leadership team are measuring the performance of teachers in line with the school's policy.

The Resources Committee meets once every Term (six times a year) and ensures that the school uses its resources to achieve best value, thereby supporting the learning of all our students. This Committee also looks at Health and Safety and Staffing.

The Resources Committee consists of:

  • Jean Holderness - Chair
  • David Thomas
  • Matthew Greenham
  • Martin Baylis
  • Ellie Payne
The Performance and Standards Committee consists of:

  • Sarah Gordon-Weeks - Chair
  • David Thomas
