Term 6

Christ Church Visit

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Christ Church College for organising such a fantastic and inspiring day for our pupils. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the historic grounds, learning about Lewis Carroll and the story of Alice in Wonderland, and taking part in creative activities where they designed their own characters and stories inspired by their surroundings. It was a truly memorable visit and we are incredibly grateful to the team at Christ Church for their warm welcome and thoughtful planning.

Botanic Gardens

A big thank you to Exeter College for our fantastic trip to the Botanical Gardens! The children had a brilliant time being shown around and learning all about roots, rainforest habitats, desert plants and even carnivorous species. A truly inspiring day!

Term 5

A huge well done to Year 2—we’re so proud of you for completing your SATs! You’ve all worked incredibly hard, shown resilience, and proved just how fantastic you are. To celebrate, the children followed instructions from their guided reading to make some delicious rocky road and enjoyed some well-deserved fun in Forest School. A brilliant way to mark a big achievement—well done, Year 2!

Term 4

Christ Church filled their attendance sign in class and were rewarded with some well-deserved Forest School time to celebrate their amazing attendance! The children had a fantastic time exploring the outdoors, engaging in nature-based activities, and making the most of their special reward.

Fantastic work, Christ Church! Keep up the great effort—let’s see if we can do it again!

Term 3

Our Year Twos worked incredibly hard this term in their core learning, so it was fantastic for them to relax and enjoy their termly karate lesson today! They focused on improving their balance and defensive skills while working with their partners, all while having a great time in the process.

Term 2

This term has been packed full of exciting learning and activities! In English, we explored the theme of Villains and had a fantastic time creating and writing our own villain stories. We were so proud to share these stories with the children in Reception, who really enjoyed listening to our creative tales.

In Computing, we have been developing our photography skills, learning how to take effective and thoughtful photographs. We’ve also been working hard to improve our maths fluency by practising on Numbots and TT-Rockstars, which has really helped us build confidence with our number skills.

In Science, we have been busy investigating materials! We went on several material hunts to identify the properties of different objects and explored how effective various materials are for specific purposes.

A highlight of the term was our visit to Littlemore Library. It was a wonderful experience, and we loved spending time exploring all the books and discovering new stories to enjoy.

It’s been a fantastic term full of creativity, curiosity, and teamwork, and we can’t wait for even more adventures next term!

Term 1

In Term 1, we had an enchanting time diving into all things magical! Highlights included visits from the cheeky wizard Mr Majeika and Winnie the Witch, which inspired us to write creative potion recipes and make our own potions. Magic Day brought even more excitement as we created colourful, frothing potions and played magic-themed maths bingo. In Maths, we consolidated our place value skills and used tens frames to support our learning about addition and subtraction. Science lessons were equally exciting as we explored animals, including humans, and tested our knowledge by sorting animal cards into groups.A memorable moment was our trip to Jack Peers on one of the last sunny days of the year, where we discussed camouflage and survival in the woods and even crafted our own magic wands. Later in the term, We wrapped up the term with a celebration of excellent attendance, enjoying a party and crafting beautiful firework pictures. It’s been a busy yet magical term, and we’re thrilled to dive into the world of villains next term!
