In RE, we’ve started our new Easter topic by exploring the Big Question: ‘Is forgiveness always possible for Christians?’ We began by unpicking what the words forgiveness and resentment actually mean and how they can make us feel. We talked about resentment as holding onto negative feelings about something someone has done to us, and thought about how that might affect us over time. To help bring this to life, the children explored different scenarios, acted them out and created freeze frames to show whether they thought the characters should forgive or hold onto resentment. We finished by reflecting together as a class, sharing our thoughts and explaining our reasons. It was lovely to see such thoughtful discussions and mature responses as we began this important topic.
