2025/26 - Rainforest Art with Ruth Daniels

This week in Art, we continued our rainforest-themed work by exploring the artwork of Ruth Daniels. We discussed what we liked and disliked about her pieces and thought carefully about what makes her work so effective. The children noticed her strong use of shading and how she creates realistic texture through colour, pattern, and fine detail. The children then created their own viewfinders and used them to focus on a small section of a rainforest image. This helped them to zoom in and consider how shape and colour can be used to represent a variety of textures in their own artwork. A fantastic lesson in observation, creativity, and artistic technique!
